air conditioners

has anyone here ever installed a aftermarket ac unit in their trailer. i just bought a new haulmark for my kids racing and found some pretty good deals on units with the heat strips. i was wondering if there were any downsides ie leaking or roof problems. The one I was looking at all say tey will fit in the standard 14x14 roof vent.

thanks in advance

Re: air conditioners

An A/C unit wouldn't be very effective on my trailer but it would keep my boat cool

All kidding aside, My friend installed one on his race car trailer that was originally on a security guard booth roof. It worked great, had A/C and heat, and he srewed it down using a homemade neoprene gasket and then caulked all the seems w/ silicone.
