True, but as stated above, the axle is beefier on the 350 (SRW and dually, both). Not even many of the Ford salesmen are aware of this.
I looked deep into it when looking to buy my '06. You can tell "a bit" of a difference in ride between the two trucks - but not much. However, you can tell a HUGE difference when pulling.
Hope this helps,
Joe

Re: diesel F-250 vs. F-350
When I did the lifts on my son-in-laws 04 f350 4x4 and on my own 04 harley edition f250 4x4 to compensate for the larger tires we changed ring & pinion gears from 3.73s to 4.10s and the both took the same gear sets/bearings etc.

Someone brought up turning radius - my '06 F-350 SRW has a terrible turning radius, and I was told the older models are even worse.

Re: diesel F-250 vs. F-350
the fronts are also different...the 250 has the dana 50 where the the 350 has the dana 60. I think the ring and pinion are the same, it has to do with the outer shafts. I have an 05 350 and it turns better than my 02 350...(meaning instead of hitting the sidewalk on the u turn, I only hit the curb now)

Re: diesel F-250 vs. F-350
You'd have had to live with a 99 thru 04 S/D 4x4 with the leaf spring frontend to appriciate the turning radius/ride of the 05 and newer S/Duty's.

Re: diesel F-250 vs. F-350
The 1999-2004 SRW 4x4 F250 and F350 trucks were identical except for the 250 having 2" blocks and the 350 4" blocks. Actaully some 99 250's had 4" blocks too.
In 2005 and later trucks, the F350 did recieve a slightler larger ring/pinion and axle diameter.
I used to have a 2004 F250 Lariat 4x4 CC. I ordered it with the Snow plow Prep package, which were the heaviest front springs available for the 250/350 trrucks. I also ordered the camper package(heavier rear springs and stabilizer bar). The truck sat high, like it had a small lift, and rode like a dump truck. It would rattle your fillings out of your teeth over bumpy roads. Traded that in on my 2004 F250 4x4 King Ranch powerstroke Crew Cab, standard springs all the way around. Much nicer ride, and when my Excalibur 40 is hooked to the hitch, it only drops about 2" in the rear. Trailer is balanced well though.
BTW, if this is your first diesel truck, you are gonna love the aftermarket crap for them, I have stainless duals and a tuner, and that sucker will pin you in your seat and boil the tires off on demand!
