mine is a 4x2 as well. 8.1 Vortech and allison. I have no problem keeping up with the diesel guys towing, i just have to fill up more often

Whatever you do don't go with a 6.0 motor, no matter what year they all are bad. Have personally owned 03, 04, 05, 06 they all suck, had 7.3 they were pretty good motors. we have 2 6.0 in the shop as i write this, getting injectors for the 10th time on one of them. It has had injectors put in twice in 3 weeks, didn't even make it 350 miles since last injectors. The guys in the service department said not to buy the 08's because they are already having problems.

Went from an 02 F-350, Crew Cab, DRW, 4x4, 7.3, long bed to an 05 with a 6.0. No comparison in ride, power, quietness and comfort. Hard to believe the same company made both trucks.

have 03 f-350 with 5.4 triton and pulls great. Towed 303.5 excavator weighting 10,000 with trailer. and is four wheel drive.
