Like stated above, call GM customer service...also,better business bureau... the water pump is a basic 6.0 part...there is a system they use(warranty allowment)to tell the service dept's how many hours they are allowed and how much(retail)to charge for the part...u have a great case and I'd phuck 'em right back I'm on my second H2 and when I bought the first one(brand new),zero miles, the upper hose from the radiator came off before I got home less than 30 miles away!!!I fixed it myself before even thinking of taking it back there...I drove it back up,explained, said detail it again I would never bring mine to the dealership unless it was "FULLY"covered under warranty.Even then it's always something...I had a hd 2500 before my dually, tranny went at 2kmiles...brought it to the dealer...pick it up and there's this blue ding in my drivers door on my white truck...the fat ass fixing it banged it off the lift post trying to squeeze out of the cab

AutoZone for the windshield wipers, about $15.00 per pair for the best ones! (They'll even put them on for you!)
I'll go to the dealership in INDY or Valpo if I have to.
The water pump deal was funny too. I have a lifetime warranty on the new one. I asked why the old one didn't have a lifetime warranty and he said "I guess we feel bad that your original one went bad so early and you had to pay so much for the new one so we're giving you a deal on this one" (I'm not kidding!)

Time to upgrade to an 07 and the 100K factory warranty

we had a 03 or 04 h2 come iin for a transfer case problem to my shop,it had a PLASTIC mode ring/collar to shift into 4wd!!! in its "all time" 4wd t-case,of course it was blown apart and laying in the bottom in pieces!!! When I called the hummer dealer they just happened to stock 12 of the pieces (which means THEY ALL BREAK IF USED). Should have been recalled and fixed for free,I'll see if I can find pics, the t-case wasn't used in any other gm platform that I have ever seen, which is a good thing!!,Smitty

I bought my wife a new H2 in 2003. Probably one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. Serviced by my selling dealer. Not anymore...In a nutshell:
Windshield Wiper Blades: $80.00
Water Pump: (Went out at 40,000 miles) $859.00
I still like the vehicle but then GM wonders why the competition is kicking their butts.

Both Ford and GM blow at service when it comes to their higher end vehicle after sales support in my opinion.
With my Porsche's discovered alot of the parts are used on other vehicles. The 928's use the same engine mounts as an 80's 5.0 Mustang for example. The dealer told me this when I needed them! It's the little extra's of why I still take my cars to them for anything beyond an oil change......

my lawyer told me that wiper blades for benz cost him $125. but the dealer was nice enough to leave him a tin of walnuts on the seat when he picked the car up.
call 1 800 who gives a **** at GM and complain about the water pump at 40,000 miles and you stand a very good chance of getting reimbursement on that bill. Just be cool and factual with them.

Brake Job: They couldn't give me a price because they have never done one on an H2 before.
Two Cables that keep the hood from flipping over when open: $60.00 and they wouldn't warranty them after they rusted out to nothing.

Doesn't the H2 have a 50,000 mile warranty?
