Also, the bilsteins you priced are their entry level yellow body shocks. I would pass.

The Bilstein that AZ has is the OEM shock GM was using. They're better than a no-name shock but not by much. They're OK for highway driving but sub-par on rough and uneven roads. You really notice the difference of a quality shock when you're running on uneven roads and in crosswinds.

The thing I liked about the Edelbrock is the automatic damping adjustments. They alter valving based on fluid speeds inside the shock. On smooth roads, they are plush. Hit a bump and the valving senses the impact and adjusts to a stiffer mode.

Rancho 9000's. Lifetime warranty and decent price. They are adjustable so set them to the ride and handeling you like.

This is my 1000th post.

I see your from lapeer, when I towed my boat down the xpressway right thru your neck of the woods with my duramax hd it pounded me to death on the exspansion joints once the stock oil filled shocks faded. I bought bilsteinsto replace them, when I took the shocks off my 04 they were less than a year old and had 25 or 30 k on them, they were totally shot, the bilsteins were night and day better. I don't know which ones are entry level or the better ones but I really like them,I even took them off my 04 when I sold it and put them on my 06. As far as rusting, mine are 3 years old and still look like new and 1/2 my miles are winter driving,Smitty

I am going to try a set of Bilsteins. Their website has the ones I am looking at and some for lifted trucks not a lot of choices.

Thanks for all the help OSO!

Smitty,
I drive that road to work; it is a little rough.
