I have run a 305/70/16 on mine and it fit fine. Looked sweet as hell too. Right now I am getting ready to put on a set of Hummer 2 chrome wheels with 17 inch BFG Mud Terrians that are 285's.

Be careful on weight ratings- many of the rims that will fit don't have the same weight capacity as OEM. Most of the Wheelpros brands come up short.

I've got a set of Toyo Open Country M/T's in 33X12.50X20 and 20X10 Eagle 114's. Had to crank the bars, but it works. Still tows just fine.

I just bought a set of the new GMC 17" rims and tires that were take-offs from a new shape 2500HD, they look real nice on an 2006 model, paid $800 for them, which considering I needed tires was a deal.

I just got new tires and rims today for my '05 2500. FINALLY got rid of the pizza cutters!
Got some Weld Wheels that are 16 x 8.5 and the tires are 285/75/16 Michelin's. They rubbed just barely and we trimmed the lower plastic piece below the bumper (about 1/2") No one would ever know if it's not pointed out.
