I finished up my business trip with 1123 miles driven in the Tundra. I lived with this truck all week. I really liked all the storage places and the overall power. This truck would really get up and go!. It was comfortable inside too. This rental truck had 8,000+ miles on it and no rattles or any issues. I noticed the Tundra to seem to sit higher and overall was bigger than the other trucks on the road.

Thanks for your experience thoughts. To many on here are just asumptions from members who hate the thing without ever driving it.

I drove /considered the Tundra and a Titan about 6 months ago when I was in the market. I was worried about the issues that typically come with any new vehicle launch and the Nissan was more truck for the $$ so I went that route. Toyota (Japanese manufactures in general) fix the issues as they arise so the longer they make them the bugs will disappear.

I was in a new Tundra all weekend hunting, and the ride was very good. The dash did shake so bad we thought it was falling out though. Both new Tundras there had the dash issue. The Tundra was quite a bit faster than a new f150.

The F150 needs a five speed tranny. That would really help it ! In fact, so does the GMC. My Tundra is quite fast with five speeds and a relativly small engine, 4.7 L . Great fuel economy, and great power, no doubt due to the extra speed in the tranny.

I owned a 2002 Tundra for two years and even though it was smaller it was twice the truck my Chevy trucks were and I was HARD on my trucks. In the shop twice in two years. One was my fault(stick in the transfer case seal) and the other time an o-ring for the AC.
My 2000 Chevy was in the shop more times than I can count in two years. My 2005 was better quality but it was a pig. Tundra had way more power. Only reason I didn't buy another Tundra was because my dealership sold the Toyota franchise.
I just picked up a 2007 new-style Chevy and it does seem to be improved but it has horrible wind noise.

Does anyone know if Toyota fixed the problem they had with camshafts breaking on the new 381hp motor? I heard some rumblings about that on ls1tech.com...
I'm also not sure if the sales guys at Toyota are telling their Tundra customers with that motor about their pricey 30k mi service... Heard it costs roughly $1000... ???

I'm with ya! Ya won't find any oriental sh*t sittin in my driveway! Not that they don't make some good vehicles...I just don't want ta learn ta speak their language. That's what will happen if American's don't wake up. All oif the world is buying bits and pieces of America. H! A Dubai(Arab) business group just bought a pretty good size chunk of one of our major banks. Wake Up America or we won't be America for long.

I own a Chevy.....but Chevy should to take notes from Toyota on their Tundra Extra Cab...... The Chevy Crew cabs have no room in the back seat and neither does my Suburban compared to some of the competition....
