08 F-350

I have a 08 F-450 for a service truck, awsome truck but a fuel pig. I am considering a 08 F-350 for towing the boat. Is the 350 as hard of fuel ? Anyone have one as a daily driver?

Buy a duramax. At least drive one first. I bought a new 350 HD cab and chassis and put a 16 box on it and am real pleased with the milage and it pulls great. 370 HP and 670 foot pounds. Just drove it 150 miles and guage only came down to half between 3/4 and full. Drove from Burlington NC to Johnson City Tn on 1/2 tank.

legacy, what do you have, that sounds to good to be true. What gear is it. I have a f-450 and it gets 5-6 pulling and 9-10 empty.

08' F350 mileage

25k miles on 08' 6.4 F-350srw cc....14.5-15mpg around town, 17-18 highway, 11-12 towing 10k lbs @ 75mph. The mileage does get a little better as you put on miles; break-in is not 10k miles though; more like 18-25k. I just noticed my mileage is still getting better....

Duramax

I would consider a Chevy. My spine and gm seats are not a good match. I sold a new suburban cause the seats were too contoured. Flat back seats such as the ford are better for me. I think the duramax is a tougher motor, the new ford cab is hard to beat...my 2 cents

All well said...agreed. I can't believe the seats in the 08' SD....I still ride in my 05' quite often & it's nice, but it feels like a truck & the NOISE! I have a back problem, L5, so lower support & the right seats are crucial for my situation. I will say that until recently, the GM trucks, mainly 1/2 tons rode very smooth. Just when you get up to 1 tons and bigger that the Fords were superior. Now I guess it's all just personal preference. I joke about the Chevy's but they have gotten better as with Dodge; just depends what you like.

I wish mine would get the mileage that some of you seem to be getting. I am in the 7.5 mpg towing my 36 Nor-Tech and only 10-12 the rest of the time.
