Sterling Bullet?
Has anyone had ay experience with these trucks? Im looking to replace an F550 with something of equal or better payload. I need to be able to carry a minimum of 650 gallons on the frame of a chemical weighing in at 10.7 #/gal.
Sterling has a new truck that is a version of the Dodge trucks but in a Class 5. 19,500# GVWR and 26,500 GCWR.
They have the big cummins motor and an Aichner (sp?) transmission made by Mercededs. The dealer told me they are all Dodge cabs on a Sterling frame with Cummins power and MB trannys.
I was quoted a touch over $33,000 for a single cab auto with vinyl interior and 2wd cab/chassis at Freightliner of Tulsa. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me considering my F550 was over $45k new. They said they can get a Patriot Blue with cloth and nav/premium interior out of Ft. Worth but more expensive.
It will be equipped with a basic flatbed and permanent mounted tank, hose reel and pump.
Anyoen have any experience with these??
