Powerstroke 6.0 missing
About 2 days ago noticed truck had a surging jerking to it when driving at a steady speed (not towing). Now it has a miss at idle and when driving at steady speeds, seems ok when excellerating, and seems to be better after it warms up good. Today seemed to have a rough shaking idle to it, I think its getting worse,no check engine lights or anything coming on, any ideas 04 with 50,000 miles

Mine did the same thing, only at close to 150,000 miles. It was injectors, felt like a spark plug wire off on a gas engine. And it would come and go, Injectors are about 400.00 each after the core charge, and around 700.00 in labor per bank.

It could be a bad injector. Symptoms are also consistent with a bad cam position sensor. Get the codes checked. It should tell you the problem. Should be a warranty fix with only 50k.

Probably a stuck EGR. The injectors pretty much work or they don't. It's easy to clean and shut, then either search this forum or on dieselstop and look at defeating it. Depending on year ('03, some '04) you can remove a butterfly for additional benefit.
Being under warranty, you may want to have a new EGR installed, then definitely defeat it. Truck runs better and you eliminate the sticking problem.
