rear video camera
The camera in my tailgate works great for hooking up but isn't much use once the trailer is connected. Has anyone used a camera that can be mounted to the transom?

Why?

See where you are backing?
|
I thought the idea was to help backing up to a trailer.

but seeing behind the trailer when backing would be very useful
I have a nightmare windie driveway to back up off a private drive I would like this too a good use for one of the rocker aux switches on my dash to switch to a second camera power off the lightin gcircuit and wireless video signal would be the best. i fthat exists. Ramb |
Go to Ebay motors RV/Trailer Parts section. Get a wireless system and have one camera with suction cups or mount it permanant. Most are water proof so you could install it in the trailer.

Would this work?http://www.rearviewsystems.com/swifthitch.html

i've got that system, and while it works well for the back of the pickup, i dont think the signal is strong enough to work if mounted to the back of the boat trailer. a wired system would no doubt work best.
