28ft boat at approx 6000-6500

Never have had a issue ANYWHERE that has a hard surfaced ramp and that includes Jamestowns ramp at Lake Cummberland when wet.

Having correct tongue weight is key with todays limited slip rears.
Good to know! Thanks!

Yep, I've seen it. He's got a big wing on the back of it to improve traction.

With 320 gallons of gas and a Myco trailer..I weigh in at about 18k...That Jap truck tows better than my diesel truck..and I get better mileage too..If it wasn't for Chris Sunkin who advised me to sell the Ford 4x4 diesel for the Nissan gas 2x4 I would still be stuck at the ramp...Thanks Chris..

If you are looking at 1/2-3/4 ton and 2 wheel drive an SUV is the best way to go. Pickups just don't have enough weight on the arse end to get traction. I had a 4X4 99 ford desiel duelly crewcab awhile back and had many times with my little 22 Pachanga I had to use 4 wheel drive! That truck would spin the tires in 2 wheel drive on level ground in the grass if there was dew on the ground! A single wheel short wheel base will get the best traction in a pickup...problem is ya need the long wheelbase for stability on the road.

I haven't had a traction issue with my 2 wheel drive suburban yet...fingers-crossed! Just drug a 288 sunsation from Fl on a triple axle trailer and handled it like a dream. No problems at all with the Powerquest I traded at the ramps. The sunny is only 300 pounds heavier so I don't think I'll have any trouble!

It's not a very good pic..but at least you can see the wing that generates the downforce that keeps the rear end from swaying at speeds above 80 when I tow. You can see Chris in the background if you look real hard giving me the thumbs up!!!!!!
