2005 ford 350 6.0 diesel with water in fuel
Have a 2005 f350 and the dash says water in fuel on the display?Truck runs fine. put startron diesel water treatment in the tank and changed both fuel filters. Any ideas?anyone have this happen?thanks

You need to drain the separator. If you don't drain them regularly, it f's up the water sensor in the sep and the light stays on. I don't believe it's available separately- you have to replace the whole unit.
Be careful of the drain plug- I believe it's a 4mm hex key. Some are steel and some are brass. The brass one's strip easily. If yours is brass, and you can get it out, get a steel one.

I would suggest draining both filter areas on the 6.0. One on the top of the engine and the one on the frame. Mine did this a lot about a year ago..but it has been fine since.

I have changed filters way too many times on my truck. Had the dealer reset the light and within 100-200 miles the light is back on. Change filter again same thing. My light just stays on no matter what I do.
