15" Aluminum Trailer Wheels
I've got a Eagle Trailer 3 axle and it has 14" wheels on it after checking the load rating I'm finding I'm right at the max weight rating for these tires...I'd like to upgrade my wheels and tires so I don't have any blowouts does anyone know where I can buy direct the aluminum wheels in a 15" wheel for this?

search the archives here, There was a post on this subject several months back, the best I remember they were available at Hot Rod parts places, but I don't remember the name. I think it was Summit.

Do you have enough room between the tires for the increased diameter? 14 inch wheels are ridiculous, you need 15's and trailer tires that are made for load carrying.

I went through this a few years ago with my 31' Scarab. The 14" tire max load was about 1760 ( about 10500 for all 6). The boat was 8600 and the trailer about 2000- you do the math. I was eating 2-3 tires a year from different manufacturers and both bias ply an radial alike. I bought a set of 15" tires from a trailer supply place in Maryland with rims (white metal) for about $800 w/ shipping and NEVER had another problem again. Rating went up to 15k and it towed CONSIDERABLY better. I had to loosen the fenders an raise them about an inch for clearance. Good luck, you won't be disappointed and will not regret not doing it sooner.Mikie

I used this place, shipping is fair and quick.
