I just sold my 05 2500 with the keys cranked all the way no new UCA, and the ride is the same except where you hit a bump so big you bottom out the droop, which wasn't often even on Detroit's bad roads.

Also, turning the keys does NOT change the spring rate, it simply re-indexes the height. If you turned the keys, and the height stayed the same, that would change the pre-load and spring rate.
We did my friends truck this way, with 2 inch blocks in the rear, and new shocks all around. He couldn't get the alignment right the first time with the cognito arms, they sent a brand new set out to him right way. Good company, great service. He also has an HD, so hummer 2 take offs with 315/70-r17 BFG tires fit great and were cheap.

gm's do sag in front a little,if you just want to level a little it's Ok. Jack up front, give bolt's 5 complete turn's clockwise, drive it. Have done lot's of'em,no problem.

your better off going with a slightly heavier bar than cranking the preload.

crank em up, done it a hundred times. Alignment is a good idea and relatively cheap.

Make sure to get shock spacers or longer shocks if you go more than 1".

I would avoid body lifts.....You will have to modify all types of things to get them to fit including radiator supports, ps coolers etc. Much cheaper to get a suspension lift overall. I would give Nick at Nor Cal truck a call. He is a cognito dealer along with a bunch of other lifts and a good guy who is very knowledgable. He can set you up with whatever and he has lifted more trucks than 4 wheel parts..... He can even pre powder coat parts for you if you want to get some bling. His site is www.nor-caltruck.com .
