Just curious... Is a Denali a special version of the Surburban/Tahoe or is it a styling package? I have 2002 GMC Sierra 3500 big dually crew cab, and that has also the name Denali. It is equipped with a different front (like the white on the picture with the Scarab) and some extra door panels, crome door handles, painted wheel/fender flares ++.
I was told it was a Denali version, but I cant find that name anywhere on the car or in the papers. It is said to be as delivered from the factory.
Thanx

If its a Denali it will say on the truck. Never seen one that didn't unless it was a custom ride.

They make/made a Sierra Denali. For a while it was Quad-Steer, and a few other appointments. However, they were ALL a cross between the 1500 and 2500 model.
They were not the 2500HD model which shares the chassis with the 3500HD.
A few folks went so far as to put Denali interiors and badging and body mods on 3500HD for some custom stuff. They may have also done some different stuff for overseas marketing.

Used to tow my old boat, 22' Advantage, with an 02' Tahoe and Dodge 3/4 ton. Difference is night and day. Even the 22' would pull the Tahoe around a little. There is no way that I would hook my scarab up to a 1/2 ton anything. Not so much lack of power, even though it did have to kick down alot with the 5.3L, but stablility and stopping, not going to happen. P.S. this was in the Rocky Mountains.

your denali will tow that boat without a problem. you do NOT need a bigger truck. that truck has plenty of power and your self leveling system on your truck WILL work just fine, don't let anyone tell you it wont work. i have towed with that same truck thousands of miles with no problems. 38 top gun, 41 velocity, 37 outerlimits and a magnum from ny to miami and back. if you upgrade anything make it your braking system. I never did but that's just me. keep good distance between you and other cars on the road and you will never have a problem.

2005 Yukon Denali is rated for 8200 lbs.
Let's make a SUPER CONSERVATIVE estimate that the 31' Scarab weights 7500 lbs. dry. (Insert actual weight if known. I'm going with a 31' twin BBC estimate.)
7500 lbs. of boat
1500 lbs. of trailer (at least, 2000)
300 lbs. of fuel -- 50 gallons of fuel (half tank?/6 lbs./Gallon)
BEFORE you talk about coolers, anchors, tools, spare parts, and all the other gear we carry.
That's 9300 lbs.; already 1000+ lbs. over the rated towing capacity of the truck. Then you are going to fill it with passengers (loved ones), and weekend gear, luggage, etc. etc.?
= Poor Advice to state the Denali is up to the task.
Not to mention, it's illegal.
