the rancho shock mentioned earlier is a good shock, but is a low pressure gas shock. pro-comp makes a 6 way adjustable high pressureshock called an mx-6. the air bags and shocks are available at 4 wheel parts.

Is the overload spring only on the 1 tons? I have the bags on 3/4 ton, with LTX's and Bilstiens may have to stick my head under there. I do not remember seeing them though?

The 2500 should have one too. Look at the bottom spring of the pack.

FYI if you remove the overload spring it will lower the rear of the truck the thickness of that spring. A small lift block will keep the ride heigth the same, and keep you from buying shorter u-bolts.

I actuallly liked that it lowered the back a little. It still stood up in the back just not as much.

Thanks guy. Airbags seem to be the best option, but are quite expensive.
One thing I wonder about with the air bags....: Is it possible to remove the air pressure so the truck lowers down, then reversing the hitch under the tounge coupler and then fill the bags so the boat hooks onto the hitch? I know you need to turn the lock on on the coupler, but for some moving around on a closed flat boat yard it would maybe work...

I am now ordering a lot of goodies for this truck :-) Why sell it? Better to have a real work horse and just keep it is my opinion!! And do some fun trips with it. Have ordered tailgate strip light, xenon kit, and a strobe kit... + a red LED "Night Rider" kit for the front grill to ave some fun with others while towing :-) They are here tomorrow!!

A bag and bracket kit is $300.00, compressor kit $200.00. If you want the truck to lower down that's a whole dif set up. It removes the leaf springs all together. Control arms big truck bags and some other goodies make up that system, very expensive! The $300 kit works well. you just go by a gas station to fill bags.
