New K5 Blazer project vehicle

I just picked up this 82' diesel K5 blazer for a project truck. Full interior and exterior resto on the way. 4" lift, 33's, 4.10's, detroits, a soft top, and banks turbo to name a few. Ive seen some nice K5's on OSO, anybody played with the 6.2 diesel?

I still have my first car an 82 diesel. I put a banks turbo on it and have turned every bolt on it in the last 17 years.

this truck was a 6.2 . The banks set up and a gear vendor overdrive(turbo 400) gave it decent performance. Always have temp problems because the radiator is small.

6.2 is a good engine, had problems w/the 6.5 but never the 6.2.

I had an 86 while in college w/ a 305, TH700, 4" lift, 35" tires, NP208t-Case, midnight blue, 4.10 gears, Auburn posi front/rear. I spent more time working on that rig than I ever spent studying, that's for sure! I remeber changing the heater core in the campus parking lot in January. We had some great road trips in that rig, and pulled out quite a few F150's wheeling back in the day!

Sorry no diesel but a 350 crate motor in an 85 K-5. man I blew that 10 bolt 3 or 4 times before switching it out for a 12 bolter. 3" lift,33 tires and 3.08 gears. not the fastest K-5 but fast enough to roll it over on the street making a packy run. A bunch of bikers (harley guys) flipped her bak over for me before the man got there and I was able to drive her home!!! Those where the days....... I still went out to the bar that night but called in sick the next day

I like those old Blazers. Soft-top will be awesome too.
