Gofastkyle------- give me a little more detail on the white vinyl wrap with a rubber cushion. What kind of white vinyl wrap and where did it come from, and a "rubber cushion", that's what I thought of originally?

We see a lot of boats blister under the trailer bunks, so using a heavy carpet is probably going to stay wet too long. Router your new bunks so the carpet doesn't wear through on the edges. We put a strip down the center before we wrap the new bunks to help trap some air. If the wood can breath it wont rot. Lots of stainless staples.

Being in the carpet biz I would agree on the heavy plush carpet. Need to stick to outdoor types, it's made with different fibers and backings that hold up to water better.

What do you mean by put a strip down the center of the bunk before wraping? A strip of what?

I recarped my bunks on my fast load trailer and bought some extra carpet from the trailer manufacture as they were able to supply be with carpet that was 2 feet x 16 feet to cover my 3"x10"x14' foot bunk board's with one piece, to coushin the bunk I took one 10"x 14' piece and folded it into 3 layers and placed on top of the bunk and then placed the bunk carpet over it and so far it has not worn through

The problem with the carpet is that when the bunk walks over the chine the carpet gets pulled and eventually ripped.I sell a quick glide which attaches to the top of the bunk and makes the surface much more durable as well as slippery
They are very inexpensive and easy to install
