Not sure of what boat your planning to upgrade to, but I'd strongly consider a 4X4. Makes all the difference on steep ramps.

Buy a gm diesel, if Ur like me you enjoy a nice smooth ride on the way to and from the lake (before I decided to get a 3500 with a 6 inch Fabtech lift, can u say rides like a **** spreader!). Gm trucks have the best interiors and seats in my opinion. Smooth quiet diesels, and legendary fuel mileage and hp/trq. Duramax duallies are ripe for the pickin if your lookin for a dual wheel unit. I recommend a 06-07 model. They came with the highly desired LBZ Duramax, pre partical filter with the most HP.

The price is close if it was a 4x4. Hold out, look around and find a 4x4. You will be disappointed in having a 4x2 dually. They aren't great on the ramp with any steepness and not great if you need it in the snow. Plus it will be hard to sell it down the road. People want 4x4's.

yeah i will definintely keep looking thanks guys. What do you think about the gmc 3500 v8 turbo diesels non dually it is a 4x4 for an awesome price! My only concern was that it's not a dually but it is a 4x4 and its an 05 with 100k miles. What do you guys think? the asking price is really low especially at $8,500 by a privae seller

I'd hold out for a 4X4, makes alot of difference on wet steep ramps especially if you are thinking about getting a bigger boat.

Why do need a dully? What are you going to use it for. I wholesale cars for a living and I have two diesels right now. One is a dodge dully and the other is a ford f250. The price on the 05 sounds cheep if it is a good truck. Pm me or call me if you want me to find you a truck. 317-679-4453. Mike.

I'm confused, is it or is it not a Duramax diesel? For the price id venture its not. But if it is buy it! Does it have the 8.1 gaser maybe? Can't remember what was the last year for the 496.

Unless u got a 47ft and up boat id kick the dualie idea in the ass. Unpratical and 2 more tires to wear out.

You don't need a dually for your boat but it would be wise to find a 4x4. Boat ramps are notoriously slippery. I would suggest a Dodge 2500 4x4 CTD. You can find a 5.9 pretty easily, just do the searching and have patience.
