Default Peterbilt or Kenworth Class 7 tractor

We are shopping for a 4 Door conversion with 150 to 200,000 miles or less. The minimum horse power is 435.

The other option is to buy a class 8 highway tractor and make the conversion.

Ideas ????

check here. www.horsetrailerworld.com look under trucks they are listed like crazy, most will only have the 330hp, some are bigger but the price diference is crazy. if you go the class 8 deal, i have a 2001 pete 379exhd 70" sleeper 475 cummins 13 spd. soon to be a fresh inframe with 700000 on total rig that I will sell.

The $135-150,000 for a C13, Ultra Shift or Freedom conversion doesn't feel good. Were the specs. to include a C15 @500 HP or more, Allison 4,000 series w/150 - 200,000 miles, conversion, then $100,000 would probably work.

Otherwise, it may be more prudent to use a $35 - 50,000 highway tractor and convert it.

The 359 is a very nice truck. However, for this application, not a 357, but a Aero model would be preferred.

Cummins has always been a good engine, get you home broke down.

However, I hope to find something Pre- emission. At the moment, were one to focus on only new, then a glider kit may be an option.

Further, the pre- emission, low mileage, day cab or highway sleeper would be my preference after an existing higher horse power conversion.

Class 8's are all over and I think they make the most sense to convert.

Default kw or pete

both trucks are built at the same factory,The radiator size limits you to under 350hp.to get more hp and radiator you will have to step up to a class 8 truck.
