Depending on what comes up on the report from Fixxer, as long its clear, I would have no problem at all. 05's were typically just fine, 03's -September built 04's were more the issue, according to my Ford Diesel guy. I just did the same with an '05 Excursion 6.0 with 79k on it. I love the truck. I sold my 2000 7.3 Excursion and just love this one. More torque, power, and LOVE the 5 speed trans much better!

I had an 05 and had zero issues with it, but i sold it with 50k miles. the new owner loves it, not sure of mileage
but if you put a programmer on it then you are asking for problems.
i had one but only used it in tow mode

look at the two pics. the white one is a 2004-and earlier. the grille is rounded and the bumpers are usually all chrome. then look at the other. the grille is bigger the edges are squared and there is always accent paint on the top of the bumper 2005-2007. funny thing is... that black one is a ffactory photo of the truck i have. a lariat outlaw. its badass!

I bought a new 2007 crew cab lariat 6.0 and drove it to 76k with absolutely zero problems. Ran a diablosport predator tuner, 5" exhaust, and cold air intake the whole time. Just have to be conservative when pulling weight. Have an 09 now and I have to say that with the dpf delete and 525rwhp tune it gets far better mileage than the 6.0 with the 425rwhp combo. I wouldn't be afraid of it as long as it's service history checks out. good luck
