Default Hitch bar help

In the process of purchasing a new hitch bar and ball (2 5/16).

Need at least 12k capacity.

I would really like to have an adjustable hitch but have not found anything above 10k.

I've looked at Diversi-tech, etc.

You guys know of anything or I'm I going to have to go the fixed route?

Any input would be appreciated. Also any thoughts on bar/ball material.

Thanks in advance.

Btw, to muddy the waters even more, would like something that looks pretty cool.

Fixed is better anyway. I have not found one that is rated for that much weight that is easily adjustable. The only adjustable ones are bolted together as similar to common pintle hitch setups, and weight distrubution setups. They are all bolted together.

I went with a solid DT. A adjustable would be more versatile, but felt better with the solid. I like that its aluminum and being keyed. Its a good hitch and looks great. Plus its made in the USA.

Self-Locking Aluminum Trailer Hitch Ball Mount, 5" Rise or 6" Drop, 1 1/4" Ball Hole, 14,000#

Capt... thanks for the link. Great looking set up.

Not to get too personal but what material is your ball?

Thanks again.

That's a nice looking unit, but if you read the specs, it says balls with a 1" shank will only have a #6000 rating Might want to re-think that if you're pulling a 38 Cig!

More links here:

I am running a 14K drawbar from Putnam and a 25K ball from eTrailer. I like the black hardened steel hitch balls rated for 25K or 30K. The chrome ones look like crap after a 5 mile tow. The SS ones are usually only rated for 10K, and I feel they are little too soft. The scar up from towing, and then start to rust anyway.

Thanks for the link. I just bought a 30K ball for pulling my skid steer.
