Default Trade 06 Duramax or keep it?

Been daily driving a GMC 06 Duramax 2500HD crew cab longbed single axle since it was new. Love the damned thing, best truck I've ever owned. It rolls on 22" wheels, black with tan leather and fully loaded. I still get compliments on it regularly.

But now it has 88k miles on it. And even though I still like the 'Classic' body style, I guess its getting a bit dated. Last year of the old body style with GMC I think.

So what to do? I own this thing outright, no payments. New one (or perhaps dually) is $55k. Money isn't really the issue, but its still money spent if I buy a new one. And lets face it, I will sooner or later anyway.

It runs great, no issues. Ever. It tows a twin engine 29 Fountain, so is plenty enough for my boat although I'd probably get a dually next time in case the boat 'grows'

Do I keep driving this thing or trade now? Any thoughts or knowledge on how long this current truck will just keep on rolling everytime I turn the key? Is my resale going to disappear as soon as it hits 100k miles? Its probably worth $23k, maybe $25k now I think.

I'm not normally so damned indecisive. Just really like this truck and don't want to get into a 2011 for no reason, or be disappointed.

To make it worse, I can get a deep deal on a Ford through my relationship with them, but the current truck has me sold on the Duramax / Allison combo.

Help a guy make a decision? Jeez, I sound like my old lady trying to find a pair of shoes... lol...

Yes, has the LBZ engine. Last year of pre emission Duramax. 360HP / 650 TQ model, only available for one year (late 2006 and 2007 in the 'Classic' body style).

Buy yourself a nice daily driver car and park the truck unless needed. The truck will the a hit at 100k. Diesels are hot now in the end it's your money.

Keep it and buy a car of liking to go with it? I kept my truck and added a sports car. Was tired of spending $45k every two years on a truck that was seeing mostly just highway with no towing.

Buy the new Denali 3500 and don't look back! I want one, but our 2008 only has 21k on it and can't buy one w/out a crew cab.

Keep it and get the new Camaro ZL1 that is coming out next Spring! Plus, they will probably be updating the trucks again in the next couple of years!

IMO, you're nuts to get rid of an LBZ Dmax.

Lbz is the most sought after Duramax to date. Up here in Michigan dealers are still asking and getting in the 27-30k range for a truck like yours with even more miles. If you get rid of that truck you'll regret it Mr.

if it was any other year I would say go for the 2011 .i's an encredible machine but given the 2006 lbz deal its a tough call you will not have any issues with that engine for alot and i mean alot of miles . having driven a couple of the new fords im not sold on them. if you drive a 2011 gm you will want one. but there is nothing wrong with the one you have . enjoy either
