Shi* I thought wix was the OEM supplier?
So I need to do that on my 7.3 also.
BTW
As for fuel mileage, I have asked around and even the 6.0 DRW gets as good if not better then my current non piped 7.3.
Unloaded I get about 16 to 17, towing only get 10 to 12, depending on if I run over 70 or not. Just seems to be the crossover point.
Again I rather have more truck then boat and in a couple of years want to move up on boat size, don't want to have to get another truck then.
I have gotten a lot out of this thread, thank you all for that. Looking at the stuff at the dealers I think this would be a good well taken care of truck.
I may just sit for a while,,,,,,,,other then I don't like how my truck stops when towing there is nothing wrong with it.
Yes brakes are new, same for the trailer but they are single axel, surge.

FYI, your boat is 29' including the platform. Prior to 1990 that model was called the 27 Fever II, changed to 29 after the coast guard changed their regs.

What's your rpm at 70? My 2006 Dodge with the manual would start to burn fuel much faster above 2500 which was 63-64 unloaded.

Don't know Cat, I'll check and let you know. It does have 4.10 in the rear end, with auto and overdrive. It is real smooth at 70, above that you really start to hear the turbo.

Don't sell yourself short and buy an SRW. I think a lot of guys take some pretty big chances towing boats right at the limit of some trucks, or even in excess. If you've ever lost a tire pulling something heavy, you'll appreciate having the extras. I was made a believer one day coming across Indiana when I lost a rear tire on a dually towing a 53' Haulmark enclosed with two cars in it. Truck shook to death, but that's about it. I could only imagine being heavily loaded with an SRW at highway speed and losing a tire.
