Just out of curiosity, what kinda insurance does someone need to do this, and does it make it worth doing? I have a 3500 chevy diesel, I have a business with 1,000,000 liability insurance, and work is slow. I've run oversize loads before, and have a class a CDL.
Sorry to highjack your thread, just wondering. I used to move trailers but people stopped buying them like they were.

PM sent. Based in RI and going down that way Tues or Wed, might be able to help. Have all the required insurance.

Thanks, Pat

Chevmeister, f.y.i.....you need to be Dot/MC authorized and active to haul anything for $$. If CHP were to stop you, the fine would be steep and they could impound the boat. Depends on how good a day the guys having. I only bring it up because they are cracking down on illegal haulers.
Thanks, Bob.

Actually aware of the dot/mc. I didn't know if general liability covered the boat or if you need cargo insurance per load. I used to have a blanket policy covering cargo up to 300k, but that was heavy equipment.

I don't know if a blanket policy will cover the boat and trailer...need to talk to your insurance company. For myself, I have a policy for commercial watercraft which for some reason is the wording they use for my boat hauling buis. Try the Peter or Vladimir at RigQuote.com. They saved me thousands on my insurance. Good luck!
