I highly recommend the Michelin LTX, have 55k on mine and clearly have another 25 of tread. They still run quiet and are simply the best.

I'm looking for tires also. Currently Have the BFG KO's. Really no issues with them. But just looking for a change. I was considering the Firestone Destination A/T's. Does anyone have feedback on them? Vehicle is a 2002 Ford Excursion Limited. (Only 33K miles) I put the BFG's on when I first purchased the vehicle new. Tossed the orig tires only for the reason of looking too small for the vehicle. 265/70/16. The current size on the stock rim is 315/75/16. I want to keep this size, so the choices are limited. Michelin does not make this size. That's why I'm considering the Firestones. I'm looking for a better road ride, the vechicle never goes off road.

Thanks
Ray

I get over 100k out of each set of ltx's I use. They have an 80% market share in light trucks because they make an awesome tire.

I am happy with mine..285/75s on a F-250....Only have about 15k on them though. I had Toyos once also, Great ride and traction {Wet & Dry}. Best ride of any I have tried but wore out fast

whatever you do dont buy from tirerack 9-10 times they are not cheaper than anybody else. Try sears.com, discountireonline is cheap for a lot of stuff. Walmart or sams can have good prices too. Some of these guys are only getting 15k on their tires, thats a junk tire. I had 12 k on my good year silent armors and they looked new

For everyone bashing the Geolanders, they arent for everyone. If you dont keep good shocks on your truck, they will bounce a bit. You also have to rotate them about every 6K or so. I still get 60-70K miles out of a set, with some extremely heavy footed driving and some high mph highyway driving.

My old Duramax had 16"s and it did really well with the 265 Cooper E-rated tires.

I had Michelin LTX on my suv, excellent tire. Maybe not as agressive as some other a/t's but they drove nice and lasted a long time with good wear ability. They usually cost more then others but well worth it if you want a longer lasting a/t.

Nitto Terra Grapplers are nice as well, they too last long, and are smooth and quiet.

If you tow a boat alot, want excellent wet traction, and amazing tread wear, the hands down winner is the Michelin LTX M/S2. Yes, they're not cheap but you get what you pay for.
