I took my work truck in the first picture and made a great hauler out of it, second picture. Shortening the frame is a piece of cake. I added an old Ford F350 Dually bed. I have a 30,000 lb. 5th wheel in the bed and a 30,000 lb 2 1/2" receiver hitch out back. It has a 5.9 Cummins with an Automatic.
Nice job!

Hey BUIZILLA, I have the 5.9 ISP rated at 240 HP. What do I do to get 300+ HP out of it. I've done a few 7.3's but turning up a Cummins is new to me.

WB probably around 185-190" hub to hub. ~Guessing empty weight of "chassis only", after you shorten around 9000 lbs. or less.
Agree on the 5th wheel placement's stated above.
Nice work Osage !!

Waybomb this motor looks to be the 2nd Gen 12V Cummins. If it is you need to deal with the "Killer Dowel Pin". There is a very simple fix for it but if you don't do it bad things can happen to your engine. Go to www.cumminsforum.com and search the 1st Gen forums. Those guys know about it and there will be pics to show you where it is on the engine and how to fix it.

"It can happen at 10,675 miles, it can happen at 267,493 miles it can happen at 678,876 miles...
It can happen today, it could've happened yesterday, it could happen 10 years from now, it may never happen...
See my point?"
