Just to confirm - you think a 35 CIG weighs 5-800 pounds more than your 29 Fever?

I thought he was talking about a 35 lighting. I think the 32 fever weighs like 300 more than my 29 and I can imagine the 35 is 3-400 more than the 32. But yes a cigarette is a much bigger boat with more glass. What does a 35 cig weigh anyways. I cant imagine its more than a grand than a 29 fever I could be wrong.

I have an EXT that i tow my Formula 311 with and it WILL tow it , but you sure know it is there, especially when hitting big hills on the highway and such.. I tow about 60 miles round trip about twice a month and yea it does it... But i am in the market for a Duramax 2500..

When using such an underated truck to tow heavy, that is where REAL common sence really becomes a must for the driver.. ESPECIALLY when stopping, the front brakes on an EXT arent any bigger than what used on the old box body Impalas...lol

A 35' Cafe dry is close to 10k lbs, somewhere between 9-10k if I recall. + the trailer weight, sure as hell wouldn't want to pull with mushy suspension and brakes EXT lol.

I weighed my boat on a scale it it was 11200. I have a 2002 30 cigarette. It had 3/4 fuel and gear sitting on a cheaper type aluminum tri axle trailer. Just to chime in here

Seaford will probably chime in, but a Cafe Racer is around 14000 on the trailer......a lot of weight for a diesel dually, suicide in a EXT.......I won't even pull my Baja (8000 dry or so) in a small truck. Tried it with a hummer H2.....once...not fun.

Lost my trailer brakes coming down an off-ramp in Hannibal, Mo. heading to LOTO and damn near couldn't get stopped without creaming the car in front of me at the light. Completely ruined the rotors and pads in seconds.
Sounds like you need to pay more attention to the condition of your trailer brakes. So what you are telling me is with an HD truck you would stopped on a dime coming off that ramp? I have towed a 30 ft boat with no brakes behind my F350 and had to think way ahead.

BTW the 20 were not stock in 06, so you upgraded your rolling mass without upgrading the brakes, then decided to tow a boat with shotty brakes on the trailer? WOW.

I've read the SRW DRW thread, I have seen the videos, I think a lot of you are just crazy.

Again....on topic I wouldn't tow a 35 cig of that year with a 1/2 ton. I will tow my 02 38 fountain with one.

The Cafe Manual says 9600 dry. That is without some of the peripheral items that MOST boats of that vintage have; swim platform, hydraulic steering, tie bar, etc.....

Expect 10k dry

trailer 2.5k - 3k depending on alum/steel

200 gallons of fuel - 1300 lbs

You're between 14-15k in practice.
