Sure it will work great everyday. Right up to the point and day when it DOESN"T! After that you won't have to worry about it because your gonna LOSE EVERYTHING to the lawsuit, which won't be covered by the way by your insurance co since they dropped you as soon as they found out you where operating illegally. Is it worth the chance?

I have a superduty that I tow with now just trying to cut back on my boating expenses for this year. I'm 200 miles from the lake but the boat is only 5 miles from the ramp. I might just look into a slip with a lift and then I can drive anything I want down.

A buddy of mine used to tow a 23' cabin cruiser to PC 90 miles just about everyweekend with his 4 cyl. jeep. He took it easy, let it pull at its own rate, feathered the gas, and put on the heavier hitch. He got away with it for a couple years, but, yes, the tranny went. He rebuilt it and kept going! Go for it...BUT it is illegal as hell if your in an accident! 5 miles is worth the risk I think.

YOU got the Jeep, YOU got the boat. Hook em up and see how YOU feel. My bet is you will realize it's not a real good idea, maybe not though. Years ago, my brother tried to tow my 19.5 ft bowrider with his Jeep Sahara. He didn't get out of the driveway before he stopped unhooked and came and got my 1/2 ton PU. Your call in the end.....

why not get rid of the superduty, and buy a beat up old truck to make the 5 mile trip and just leave it with the boat. We leave our old 93 suburban at our cottage during the summer just to move the boat if we have to pull it. if it is only going a few miles, get a heap just for that purpose
