Default Ssr?

Been thinking about picking up an SSR convertible, always liked them, but, they where INSANE money when they first came out.

I realize they aren't good tow vehicles (I have an 02 2500HD for towing)

Anyone own/owned one? Input would be appreciated!

Michael

Only thing I have heard is that the 6.0 is more desireable vs. the 5.3
Couple of guys I know have them, seem to like them, but they are the kind of guys who have other toys and don't drive them a ton.

Yes, I have looked at the 6.0L powered ones mainly, it wouldn't be a daily driver, just something to plow around on summer days. I unloaded my Pro Street car awhile back and want to get something a little more drive able for a summer toy

Thanks!!

we have one its my wifes summer driver, its cool . we had vettes before ,lot easier to get in and out of.
you want a 05/06 they will out run a 05/06 vette to about 150 then the vette will catch it ,I rememmber reading that somewhere Ive had ours to about 130 smoth and still going. the 05/06s are holding there money. and should continue to. there is a couple special ones to look for in 05 they did Indy promo cars we have # 43 of 60 , they also did a brick yard promo car, and 06 blue 6 speed is rare.just my 2 cents good luck in your search

Yeah its fun to have a summer fun toy for the street, but if it was me, buy a faster boat, and put some mods on the duramax to make it fast!

Even though they have a Governor at 126 MPH?

....and yes, I've driven plenty of them. Fun for what they are (not sure WHAT they really are ) but a fun top down cruiser.

I ran into an SSR in my '69 C-10 a couple years back and we played a bit.

Didn't get a real good look, but from what I could see in the rearview, it's an ok looking rig.
