Boat Cover Vent

Anybody install and use these vents?

Looking to add vents to my cover. Does the type of material come into play with these? My material is "8 oz. Marine Poly-Guard". It is a Carver cover.

I have that vent in my cover, but the fabric is doubled up at the vent for strength.
