Any idea about battery life? (just curious)

I need a 10 tire deal myself and am in the market for one of these.

Thanks

There website has a decent FAQ. Says the batteries in the sensors last 5-7 years ( I think)

As far as I can tell, it reads the sensors and starts displaying data as soon as I get within 60-80 feet of the trailer, even before hooking up to the trailer. You set a low number and a high number for pressure and temps at initial setup and there is an audible alarm if any of the tires are out of that range. I haven't had a failure yet, so I don't know (knocking on wood as I type)

Could act like LoJack also. Last year I lost a tire and rim off my trailer (pretty sure someone loosened the lugs) anyway, I stopped within a 1/2 mile of loosing it, when I went back I could only find the lugs in the road no tire or rim! Must ave took off into the woods. Coud have used the sensor to determine if I was close to it!

Very cool and thanks for the report. I worked at a Napa that sold them and almost bought them for my trailer. I love the idea.
I've towed dozens of trailers tens of thousands of miles from junk to new/perfect and you'll laugh when I say this but I've lost a tire at night, multiple times and an entire wheel off my Sonic trailer during day light w/o knowing! If you have a good tow vehicle and a good trailer and are towing straight/level you may not even know!
As far as tire temperature........, #1 killer of trailer tires. I fought this for yrs on my old Sonic (4 sets of tires!) before realizing the damn thing was over loaded. They would get so hot that the steel belts would cause the tires to delaminate. Always the front axle and I could tell (before cheap laser thermometers) a huge difference when one side was in the sun and one was in shade.
Our tow to the Keys is 3 1/2 hrs @ 70 and part of it in crap traffic. I do everything I can to keep from doing that trip after dark due to not being able to see the trailer tires.
Looks like I know what my next project is.

Craig, how big/heavy are those sensors?

Edit: Read the FAQ's and watched the video. Answered my question on rubber valve stems.

You need a special tool to remove them.
