Year one?, meaning first year of production? This is a 69, first year of production for the Rally Sport (RS) was 67. Or Year One was a custom shop that did conversions, like the Yenko?

Can't fault the seller. They are selling brand new Cigs and MTI's for north of $750k. All it will take is some boat customer who "has to have it". Big players just buy what they want, when they want.

Kind of what I was thinking the marketing strategy was. Guy drive in with his Cadi with women loaded up with plastic as big as his credit card and doesnt give a rats and buys it because like you said he wants it he gets it.

So maybe a good strategy and if they sell it they make 75 grand if not more. If not they chop it down till they sell to the next level of high roller who thinks its a good deal.

Even with parts made out of gold there 5-10k tops into paint, 20k tops into power train no blower stated int he package, then whatever he had into the body, seats, etc throw in another 20k(which is generous) this card should sell and make them money in the 40-60k range, unless the builder could provide a receipt showing where he spent 10 grand on breaks and so on and prove us all wrong.

That is NICE.....but as it has been mentioned already about the car in question - it only takes the right buyer and it can/will go for the asking price without any rhyme or reason why someone would pay so much for it. That said, I have been to some areas on the US where a good winds should level some of the shacks that people call home, the grass only gets flattened by snow and not cut as part of maintenance and appearance year to year but there is a brand new $60k+ bass boat in the drive way

To me its not a "must have" car as built...

You guys are very correct about the car market, it peaked already and is only going DOWNHILL from here. I have watched hemi Chryslers sell around here for 40,000 that were 80-100,000 8-10 years ago, I have watched 1973/1974 SD Transams that were fetching 100-150,000$ a while back languish in the 50-60,000 range and not sell. I still do a lot of work on old cars for customers and have been amazed at some of the deals they have gotten in past few years! As far as this Camaro, I can't tell how much was spent on it from the limited info but you would be surprised the kinda money that is poured into custom pro touring cars these days when a guy goes at it with a open check book, as far as what its worth, they can ask anything they want but selling it for that kinda money seems like quite a stretch, Smitty

Not flaming Pier 57 or anything. Im just trying to understand how a Camaro cost 149k. Unless its a typo? Its not original. Something Im missing.

This was my 69 I built. It sold at the Mecum auction in KC earlier this year for a $125K They only thing original was the body and the back seat. It did have A/C and was street driven, It put about 750rwhp to the ground and it did run 195mph in the Texas standing mile.
Their car looks nice, but at best is a 60-70K car. But anything is only worth what somebody will pay for it..

Just my 2 cents

Lack of assets - there is no comparison between your pro street and the one pertaining to this thread. You car was a beauty that would appeal to a very wide audience

Cars... Boring... Had an Audi R8 in this week. Drove it a bit and it was fun. 100k+ fun? Not so sure. Have a few turbo 911's in the shop now, blah. A car is a car. Four wheels and a seat. As stated the market is trending down. BJ makes everything seem like its gold because of their bull**** sales tactics and overexposure. Not too many "barn finds" left and most of the good cars have already been done and sold.
