I had the exact opposite experience. GM refusing to warranty first gen dmax injectors, I bought the truck new for 50k. Not too mention all the little electronic and brake problems I had. GM lost a class action law suit on the first gen, and had to extend the warranty. I purchased a 2006 f350 Harley as my next. Sure the 6.0 had problems, but they always fixed them, never questioned my mods and lift kit, and even replaced the entire engine with 2 months left in my warranty.
I fought with gm, their cs line, and regional rep when my truck needed a $6000 repair at 38k miles that no one would cover. I replaced the injectors myself with units from billy dog that fixed the problem. Gm will never get my money again

Say what you will, just put front pads on the Toyota at 110k, first "repair" it's has needed. I'm happy 100 percent.
I could go on and on about how it's the best truck I have ever owned, but you guys have proved you don't want to hear that.
Any way, this is a desiel truck discussion, which the Toyota has not part in....until 2016

When is the HP/torque enough? I realize its fashionable and big aftermarket money to bump HP, mainly because it is so easy (relatively) with a diesel but really.....
Who that has a diesel from the past 6 years can really say what came stock at the 360hp700 ft lb level was not more than enough to tow anything that can safely be put behind it?
Talking out of the other side of my mouth and being a Duramax owner currently. I don't see any problem with the current Duramax platform if GM wants to go toe to toe. Duramax is a proven motor, currently good well into 500 hp with the limiting factor being the Allison which is an easy modification to continue the HP wars.
Personally, I would be much more impressed with a 3-5mpg increase then 50 more hp.
If Ford is really the work truck leader, I would think most business owners would be more interested in lower cost of operation than a stock drag truck?
BTW Ford, its 2015 and new platform is rolled out - when are they going to start using the SAE tow standard agreed to years ago???

Will these new Fords have a real warranty, or just the 60k mile warranty they have been carrying the last few years. GM and Dodge are 100k...that should pretty well sum it up....
