Jay, I have the 2014 Sierra 6.2 which is only available in Denali. Your price is for an SLT Sierra with a 5.3. I had the 5.3 and it was not enough power. The 6.2 (420hp) has plenty of guts. Interior and ride are superb, however price tag 56-58K on the window and expect to pay 52K

Default Valve issues on the Ford

I would suggest going to a Ford forum and a Chevy forum and sniffing around for reliability info. I know some of the new 6.7 ps have had catastrophic engine failures due to the exhaust valve coming apart and getting ingested. Its hard to tell online if this is wide spread but according to a friend in the business it's not rare. Extreme heat cycling of the valves is too blame and this partly due to the exhaust regen process. I think ford has a killer truck but I'm not not dropping 50k on something I will be worried about after warranty. Ford has been good about fixing those under warranty. I didn't post this to start a war, it's just what I found when I was going to trade my Dodge. ( I just kept what I had)

The LS platform is bullet proof, whether your talking a 4.8 to the 6.2. The 6.7 strokes are noted to be POS's if your looking to diesel, I would go with a new D max, hands down.

None of that is true at the present time. Go to GMC.com "build my truck" or speak to the dealer. I already have the quotes...

Thanks for your feedback on the 6.2 vs. 5.3!

I'm running the 2013 Chevy truck but same platform pretty much but with out the bells and whistles. Also bench seating and in leather, crew can and short bed, 6.2 and full tow package with 3.73's. My brother has more problems with his diesel (not ford) then I could imagine. This is just my opinion though. Love my truck and I don't require a diesel. Also payed 37k out the door. Sticker was 47k
