The bottom seat cushion isn't a bad job to do, you don't even have to take the seat out. Do yourself a favor and replace the lower heating element while you are in there. They are very common for burning out.

I've added aftermarket heaters to a few vehicles before; so I've been inside seats as such before.
Can I buy just a replacement lower cushion heating element from GM? I can't find the element on GMParts Direct.
www.theseatshop.com seems to have decent prices on eBay and a good reputation. Any better option? Thanks!!

Edit: Did just find out that the seat cushion foam is cheaper from GM than from TheSeatShop.
I checked with local dealer and got parts lady to get near online price for the seat heater.
She is also getting me the seat foam for near online price.

Will be ordering the leather seat cover from TheSeatShop shortly.

It's actually a bit rough. I think the 200K mile truck rides better than the 93K mile truck. I'll be swapping over the wheels/tires this weekend, and may have to go to some new shocks.

I would try to get at least a 2006 GM 8.1. if all possible. They have the 56 X crank signal plus the parts for them are readily available more so than the 24 X from the back years. just my opin.
