How many miles are on your truck?

If it's the one you have pictured in the first post and are just bored with it why don't you just find something to change it up a bit like a set of wheels or something like that? I couldn't see myself getting rid of a truck to get an older higher mileage ride because it has a badge over 1500 on the side.

Mine is the white ltz 1500 in the first post. Has 110k miles.

I sold my diesel a few years ago and been itching for another one. I don't "need" one but it makes towing a lot easier.

Plus side:
It's diesel, 4 door (mine is ext cab)

Negative side:
Older, more miles, not ltz, it's diesel so more cost to maintain.

What engine do you have in your pickup?

Get a custom tune by Nelson Performance if you want a little more power. You could change your gears and have the pcm reflashed for whatever you put in too and you will notice a better pull if you are unhappy about the torque/pull. I would think your truck would handle your 27 with no real issues?

I like your idea... Thanks a lot.
It pulls very well now. Honestly I think it does better than my dad's 6.0 2500.

I sold my 6.0L 2500 and got a 3500 LBZ, allison dually crew cab. My 2500 was extended with the suicide doors and was ok for the family but I like the four full doors much better.
The diesel part is one I can't see me ever doing without. Once I got rid of the gasser and pulled with this diesel it was love. If you like the diesel then this is a considerable deal. The 06 is better with the 6 speed trans and the current production version of the D-max but trading without money or having a payment is a good way to get the D-max. On this many miles I would find out if it has had the pump and injectors replaced. The truck is either close to that time or already past it. Just know that going into the deal so you can bargain accordingly to the cost.
Great looking white truck. I wish mine was white.

I have a friend who pulls his boat with a 2500 6.0, within one week of eachother we did the same tow, same route, my 5.3 half towed better then his hands down, and got 3 mpg better, my half was a 05, believe his is a 04 but might be a 05 as well, thats when I stopped shopping for a 3/4ton,

With that said if i towed alot I would buy a 3/4ton diesel, but since 90% of my towing is within 5 miles, I'd rather keep the half

I guess it's the weight to power ratio that makes the 6.0 not a good towing truck. I'll admit his truck handled my boat better but power wise I'm not impressed.

throw a set of air bags in your truck or a set of monroe coil over ''rear''
shocks and you will notice a big difference towing your boat..
