Default Which truck?? Again...

I posted not too long ago about trading my truck for an SS silverado. I decided to keep my truck. Well I ran into another truck I can trade even for. This is way more than I need but it looks good and will handle a bigger boat. Bad thing is, it's 2wd. The ramps I use shouldn't be a problem. What should I do?? For this...

You don't want smoke stacks for towing a boat. All the soot ends up all over the boat; exponentially worse in the rain.

Dozens of threads talking about 2WD vs. 4x4 for a tow vehicles; but general answer is 4x4 is strongly desired; required or not.

And FWIW, no comments on the looks of that thing. I don't know how you would ever keep the truck or boat clean driving it, and it looks like it will pepper the boat with rocks at anything over 4 mph.

As someone that drives an HD truck, If I didn't need a F250 for my work trailer, I would not have one. 1500s ride better, are cheaper to maintain, and cheaper to fuel. I am sure your 1500 does fine for your Fountain, the newer 1500s have higher GVWs than the older 2500/3500s of years past.

That's why I like this site for info like this. I didn't think of peppering my boat. That's a deal breaker.

I figured as long as it was detuned, it wouldn't blow smoke over the boat. Another deal breaker. Thanks for the advice!

I didn't want to say it but yes, if you have stacks and you dont have 18 wheels or are not in a tractor pull you look like Johnny Wannabe Big Rig

Thanks guys for the input. I'll keep what I have.

It's winter time and I have too much free time looking at toys.

The ram has potential, but would need a little personalization. Just offer him his truck and some cash for yours, cant hurt.

Found another. If I talk myself out of this one I am going to quit looking. 2005 lly 2500 diesel 5 speed Allison automatic. 175000 miles. No programmer. Stock motor except bolt ons: 5" turbo back exhaust and intake. Cloth interior.
