I think that A.C. run sounds like fun. What happens in A.C.stays in A.C.
We could find another place for 08 ,then it would be back to the cheasapeake in 09.

2007 Velocity Fest Planning Survey Results
We had 12 people complete the survey which is a very good response rate given our relatively small group size. Thanks for all the comments, suggestions and encouragement!
Here’s what the survey revealed and what the go forward plan will be:
1. 11 out of 12 (92%) would like Velocity Fest again next year in the region. We will hold a 2007 Velocity Fest.
2. The most popular course length is “100 to 125 miles” - 5 votes (45%). We had 3 votes (27%) each for “Less then 75 miles” and from “75 miles to 100 miles”. We’ll target approximately 100 miles for our course length.
3. The most popular maximum towing distance is “Up to 200 miles” with 5 votes (42%). We had 2 votes each for the longest “400+ miles” and the shortest “Up to 50 miles” and 3 votes for “Up to 400 miles”. Let’s plan on a 200 mile radius from North East, MD - depending on our respective home locations - the actual towing distance will be longer for some and shorter for others.
4. It looks like we’ll see a strong turnout at the Lake Norman (8 votes - 73%) and Rock the Bay (7 votes - 64%) Runs next year!
5. We had 7 people interested in getting together at the Nauti-Goose for dinner over the winter so we’ll schedule that. This will be useful for working out the date and details for Velocity Fest 2007 to be held in …..
6. ATLANTIC CITY, NJ! The Atlantic City Overnight trip dominated the voting with 6 out 11 (55%) first choice votes. There was 1 vote for the Hudson, 2 votes for Lewes, DE and 2 write-in suggestions - The Patuxent/Potomac Rivers and the Chesapeake Bay again! The most popular second choice was Philadelphia with 3 votes. Philadelphia will be the alternate in the unlikely event that Atlantic City will not work out.
7. Other suggested 2007 Velocity Fest locations include Lake Ana which is in a 200 mile range for most and Smith Mountain Lake which is out of a 200 mile range for most. Other Virginia locations include Norfolk and Richmond which are in range.
8. In addition to the survey input, four people took time out to speak with me directly. A common element of their input was to have a “rotation” of Velocity Fest locations - perhaps a cycle of 3 or 4 different locations. The consensus was that last July’s course was definitely a keeper and the clear expectation is that Atlantic City will be also. So that leaves 1 or 2 more locations to be included in the rotation. We’ll vote again next year for a new 2008 location.
Once again, thanks for your input and I hope to see many of you during the off-season.

Rick, you're the man. Stats are what I do for a living and you are using them perfectly. Whatever you all decide, I'll do my best to make it to as many events as possible. My only holdup right now is figuring out what I do for power in 2007.
