Check this video out. He talks about the pad hull that fountain has an how its a key component on there boats for speed. Leave it to a beaker to be a squeker.

No claim...it's fact. Deep V, Steps, Pad bottom, notched transom. It's all good!

He said he had "The Pad Bottom" i though Steve Stepp made up the pad bottom? No?

If i had to guess neither of them created the pad hull. They both just utilize the design.

Allison used the pad before Velocity, and I am sure they were not the first. Stepp just utilized the pad bottom and notched transom on the "Deep V" hull before others!!

Some of the boys here have a problem with everything Fountain related. Their commander has instructed them to beware of the evil spinner bottom boats.

But they all seem to like me!

Every one says they were first. I don't know to say, but there were many pads in the '80's. Shadow, Challenger, Excaliber, Velocity, Hydro streams, Allison and probably many more.
