Hey Speed, Don't waste your money on a 500hp, there are so many options that are cheaper and give you the same HP or more. All of the guys above are right, you NEED Hyd steering to go faster, single is okay but if you plan to keep upgrading HP go with the dual, the boat can go as fast as your pocket can afford. As far as Tabs, if you are in rough stuff they actually make the boat feel longer which will give a smoother ride, again spend the money on the K planes for durability and also size. Talk to Scott about where to mount them on the transom, I have seen them mounted so many ways I don't even know which is best. Good luck with the boat, you are now hooked on a "Stepp" hull boat!!

I appreciate all the great feedback. I am planning on going with a single ram (most likely IMCO) steering setup for now. I'm also going to add a drive shower to keep the outdrive cooler during long high speed runs. What do you recommend for power? I've been looking in the classified section of this website and can't seem to find anything. I'd like to have about 500hp. What is the best/cheapest/most reliable way to get that type of power? Thanks again to everyone who replied last time!!

Call Scott at the factory and find out about Express Marine Engines. There was a time where Bruce was doing a lot of work with Velocity. A couple of friends of used them, in Velocities and Powerplays. He makes reliable power.

Default Don't feel left out

I just bought a 2003 320 with the 496 ho's. I have been looking at these for awhile so I sold my Donzi 28zx and thought I would give Veloctiy a try.

mmo jo Which boat do you have I had a 32 called mmo jo. spelled the same and Im Tom D. And I was the velocity poker run team for a few years. out of the factory. Have we met?
Mr velocity Scott Mc. is no longer at the factory or with velocity for 3-4 years now.
You want my 2 cents, Run the boat get used to it and save your money and trade up to the boat that you want. Maybe a 28 with a 500 k planes and hyd. ster. I had a 26,30,32 and 2 x390s.and now a 30 with 950s ,for now! Remember you dont allways get everything out that you put in.So it is sometimes better to trade up.use your money for a down pay.
