Default 260 shakedown

so i took my 260 out for the first time this year with my new upper drive freshly installed.
the boat is a 02 260 with a 500 efi, bravo xz drive combo. i have a hydromotive Q4 27p prop on it now. My problem is it seems like it takes forever for the boat to get on plain. Once on plain i can only get about 4800 rmp out of it at about 72-73 mph per the speedo. The motor fires right up and sounds great and all the vitals are ok.
it could be that my last boat would litterly jump onto plane and thats why it seams like this boat take so long. But a 500 efi spinning a 27p four blade should do better than 4800 rpm. Any ideas as to were to start?
thanks

That boat should run 80+ all day long with 2 people and a 1/2 tank of gas. My 280 runs 77 GPS with 2 people and a 1/2 tank....500HP stock...27 Hydro labbed by Mike Hall.

Average 180lbs per person x 4= 720lbs. Gallon of gas 6lbs x 80 = 480lbs. Boat = 4000lbs

Total weight 5200lbs. Merc 500efi = 470hp.

Just some numbers for ya all...What does it all mean, I don't know.

i had it trimmed all the way up. i need to try it out with my gps. if i was at 72-73 with 500 extra pounds of cargo i might see 76-77mph with me and 1/2 hank of fuel.

my hydro 27p is not labbed

With a little chop, 80+ is not far away.
