Default 03' 260 steering cable

My steering cable has developed quite a bit of slack. Im looking to replace it, does anyone have a part number or know the length of the cable off hand?

Call Kenny at Velocity. If he doesn't have the part number in his encyclopedia of a brain, he can get it for your fast. They are very VERY helpful over at Velocity. They will support your 10 year old boat as if was only a few months old.

Please post it once you get it. I have been noticing some play in my wheel and drive and am not 100 sure if it is in the gimbal, steering cable, or both. So I may soon be replacing the steering cable as well..

I just switched over to hydraulic steering on my 280. If you can afford it, it is definitely worth it. It drives like a completely different boat now. It is so much more predictable and goes right where you steer it.

I cant swing the coin for hydraulic right now, as much as I'd like to. A new cable is enough to keep it safe and gas in the tank to enjoy it at the same time.
