If your Velocity is a 1998, I am guessing your boat is now what is called a 280. In 98 it was called a 26 as that is the length witout the swim platform. The 260 came out in 1999.

Just trying to help,

Padraig

PS. Welcome to the Velocity family. You will love that boat.

congrats. I just bought a 98 260 (280). I started the carpet thread below.

My last 02 280 had the lay in carpet with the velocity logo, it was really nice. This one didn't have carpet, and the floor hurts my feet after awhile.

I have found a few places online that sell carpet. I think my plan is to buy the carpet in bulk, cut it myself, and find someone to bind the edges for me. Its going to be a winter project, followed by a complete headliner replacement. I bought the boat cheap, so I expected to have to do some work.

Check with Kenny ([email protected]) I bet he can get replacements or new ones that fit.

Funny how many Velocity's are in NY. Hell there is maybe 8 total Velocity's in the DFW area if even that many with about 6 million people living in the area.

And have to say Schenectady NY is very close to my hometown.

Back in the late 90s through maybe 2005 there was a Velocity dealer in Binghamton NY. It was called Eyerock and owned by Jim Hobart. Jim drove the F2 race boat Velociraptor.

I suspect many of the Central NY & Western NY boats were sold by Eyerock. My second Velocity a 1998 26/280 was from Jim who was a nice guy.

I have a 2000 280 and tried getting a carpet. Had no luck trying to find someone with a pattern. Everyone said I had to make a pattern to send to them. Did you have have any luck? I see your my neighbor in Schenectady. I'm from Troy and boat in Lake George. Congrats on the new boat.

Have you talked to Kenny? My refubished VR 1 has a great layin type carpet. Doesn't move, easy to takeout and looks great. I would imagine it was made by Velocity's regular supplier. Kenny would know who Velocity used and if they have a pattern.
