Default Sea strainer on 280

I'm thinking about installing a sea strainer on my 2002 280. I never had any issues but think it can't hurt.

Does anyone have pictures where they installed one on a 280?

Its a KPM. It came with the male hose barb fittings that screw into the different ports. I don't know the exact size, but I would guess close to an inch.

It comes with the mounting base that I have bolted to the floor. The piece you see with the holes in it is like a clamp to hold the cylinder, That clamp is part of the mounting base, and allows you to turn the strainer to your desired position, then clamp it tight.

I bought it in 2006 for about $400. I am not sure if they make these anymore, as I haven't seen any lately. I have seen others that look very nice though.

Most of the strainers in the market have a 1' NPT female openings for male hose (1.25" hose sze) barbs. As i recall the Gil Style (now Hardin/CP Performance) can be ordered with permanant male hose barbs. Most mount on a vertical surface like a stringer or bulkhead but it should be pretty easy to horizontally mount attaching to an L-bracket screwed into the horizontal surface.
