WTB Fountain Fever 29

I'm not familiar with the pantheon of Fountain models, so this is a genuine question...
How is a 29' inherently fast than a 27'? This goes against everything I think I know about boats. Was the 27 a comparative dud? The 29 just rocking it? Or is it assumed the 29 would be a twin? This is where my head is, given you stated that a 33 would be faster than a 27.
Just wondering....
Thanks. Brad.

I owned a 34’ CC with triple 275 Verados. Factory quoted speeds of 68mph +. Same power on the 38, they quoted 72mph +.
Real world speeds from owners confirmed the 38 had an extra few mph. The 38 was longer wider and heavier but still faster. I think buoyancy on the wider hull played a part. I really enjoyed my 34, but was always left wondering, how good the 38 must have been.

Not the first time Fountain’s larger model is faster than the smaller sibling.

Yup. Read that in the link that was posted. I makes sense now. Balance, hull design often outweigh the effects of drag due to weight. It's almost like the 27 was a ranging shot, and the 29 hit the target, and likewise with other examples.
Thanks. Brad.

If you looking for a 29 or smaller I would get a single. Just my 02
