Default Warlock 28 SXT Top Speed?

I just bought a 2001 SXT 28. Stock 500 EFI with CMI headers and stock Bravo 1. It tops out at 80mph @ 5200RPM. Not sure of the specs of the prop but is this top speed what i should expect from this boat? Any help is greatly appreciated

That looks about right. I have a 25 SXt with a 588 / 1471 Tbs / Imco shorty that runs in the 130 mph range. Depends on my boost and racing gas.GPS 137

Im wondering wat r the best bang for your buck mods for a cat. So far im considering an extension box and porting the intake manifold but not sure if manifold work is worth it on stock motor. Do you get any MPH from shorty lower?

for the money for a shorty lower a cam change and head work would get better results.

I would find a used whipple for 500efi. They come around every once in awhile and will certainly give you ALOT more than you have now.

I agree, cam, intake porting, labbed prop, extention box, if you are lucky you will pick up a couple. Put some boost in it and you will pick up 15 to 20. 80 mph in a stock reliable single engine 28 ft cat isnt bad. I would ride it for the summer and make a decision over the winter.
BTW your prop is a stock merc. bravo one. I ordered it for Andy.

I have a 2000 28 sxt I run a lift box so it is moving the drive out and up. Seems to be real happy. I run an asperated 515 chevy w/1:36 gears and a Hydramotive 26 P5X.

Talking

hey 94tpr ! I talked to you some time ago about trading my
boat and car for the warlock 25sxt! I did the trade, and like you said, the boat is impressive! 96 mph with a stock 502&
whipplecharger, only problem now is I blew it up!
