Question -1" or -2" Imco Shorty ??

Which one would work the best on my 25' SXT cat ? I have been told not to go any shorter than -1" on my Warlock . Anybody have experience with this setup ? Please give me the particulars as far as holeshot and turning . Thanks

Was also warned against going too short on my LXI V-hull, high speed handling was the main reason given.

If you measure that propshaft line against the hull bottom, betting it's probably over 5" deep from the factory as is mine. No expert on this for sure, but from what I've read that's a huge drag issue. I recall reading on here somewhere what is the best depth for a Bravo, so some searching should find it. I'm going 2" shorty soon as I find a good lower housing to stuff my gears and shafts into.

As you can see in this pic the drive sits pretty high already . With the HP500 engine I've never been able to blow the four blade Bravo 1 prop loose leading me to believe there is something to be gained here . I remember reading somewhere on OSO that measuring from the lowest point on the sponsons the center of the bullet on the outdrive should be ??? even or 1" above ??? Have not checked to see where mine is . I do have a notched transom so I know this makes a difference in the most efficient best handling set up .

Trying to find out the terminal velocity of a stock Bravo lower . At what speed will prop blowout or cavitation become a problem ? Will I gain a little speed by running a 1" shorty with my HP500 power ? No use adding power first if you can't put it to the water . Here's that pic of my drive height .
