Banana Westside Story, Schedule, Whatever!!!

So, I kinda know whats going on this year with racing on the westcoast. Does anybody else?

There is a bunch of good racing thats going to take place on this side of the U.S. and I don't here much talk about it.

The P.O.P.R.A. crew "aka" Kevin Cooper has been workin his tale off to get some new races going!!!!

HAVASU, LONG BEACH, PITTSBURG, SAN DIEGO, LAS VEGAS.

Check out the schedule on the P.O.P.R.A. website.

So are we gonna get off our butts and get some of those old/new boats out of the garage and see who's got what it takes to come out and go racing this year?

Are they going to do a Ski-Race class like last year at any of the events? I'd like do do a couple races, but don't want to deal with the headache of half re-rigging my boat to do so.

Ski Race

They will have the ski race at Catalina for sure. It would be cool to get another one going at another venue but I am not sure about there race schedule. Do you know what org. runs the ski race?

Not sure who runs it, but I know Goldfinger Racing Jeff is the guy to talk to.

I was actually referring to the "Ski-Race" class in the rum run that Tom W. won last year in Hot for Teacher. I know that boat and See Spot Run don't conform to all of the regular POPRA racing rules (for example the underside of the engine hatches on those boats are white as I recall). And I think that POPRA did an exhibition class for those boats last year.

Actually www.catalinaskirace.net. Looking forward to it again this year. Last year was my first year and I'd like to try to run it this year. Hopefully the Rum Run will also have a pleasure boat class this year...

Yes we are planning on having the "ski race" class again. This will be the third year in a row. If you race in Saturdays Ski race your inspection forms can race with us on Sunday in the ski class. If you sign up Friday and race Sun you will get a free dock in rainbow harbor. Starting Friday and ending Monday. We are getting the same dock space that SCOPE had for their poker run.

How about the Rum Run? Is there a pleasure class? What are the requirements for your boat?

Rules

Check out the rules for POPRA. they are on the website.
There are some basic safety requirments for your boat to make it race ready. I think all classes have to meet the basics.
